I am rebuilding a 1989 bayliner boat and 1989 125 hp force L DRIVE motor. I have thus found out that the u joint is bad. I think was contributing to my overheating.... Looks like previous owner never greased it at all!!!!!
Look at these pictures and let me know what I am getting into.
My finger is point at the drive shaft that hooks up to the outboard.....little chunks of metal debrie and it was cantered.....
How do i get the mouting bolts out? I have removed the lock washer but the pin will not come out.
BTW, the manual that I am using does not have the u joints in it at all...ugh...
Looking at this website...it also appears that I am going to be SOL on parts....
