Hello all, first post here. In the past all i had to do to the boat was put gas in it. So two years ago (2006) we had all over the neighborhood kids in my 1990 Baretta Sucess 23' with Ford 302 and Cobra at the lake tubing when the drive coupling went out. It as been i dry storage since at the lake. Looking to get it ready for the 4th. I plan to pull the drive and replace the coupling, gimbel bearing and bellows myself. Outside of the oil change, foot dope and dumping the gas (which sucks, i probaly only paid $2.50 a gallon for it), is there anything else i should plan on after not running the boat for a whole season? Does the carb need to be rebuilt or should i should i just repair and test run.
My boat has never shifted right since they day i bought it 6 years ago, i cant wait to try the adjustments i have read about.
Thanks for this great sight and any help in advance, just need to know what i am missing. Should i squirt oil on top of the pistons before starting or anything like that.
Thanks, i cant wait to start burning $4.00 a gallon gas this summer...
