Re: Ford 302 marine engine information HELP

like i said before i dont know all the exact differences between a marine engine and a automotive engine but i do know the basics is the same. i have been building 302's and 351's since i was 13. i also have been putting 351 heads on 302's with pedastal mount rockers and stud mount rockers with no problems ever. now mind you these were never in a boat but they never seen speeds below a 100mph cause i was racing ford rangers. ive never had one with a spark knock ever. as far as the stud rockers are i just tore down a 351 that has never been touched and all the markings are D8 so that would be 1978 with stud mount rockers. i just hope he gets his boat running no matter what he puts in it. best of luck

Re: Ford 302 marine engine information HELP

Hi
Im considering a 1984 Seaswirl with a 302 and 190 OMC, the seller claims
a new crate 302 290HP with a high performance cam, with a 600 flow carb. I am concerned that this is a mismatch for the outdrive ? It also needs a new exhaust maifold.

The price is great.
Any help would be great.

Thanks.
