I got snooping around in there and I found the vaccume port bottom of carb were pcv line runs was really loose. Not only the hose but the brass fitting as well

Fuel pump..carb...all new..everything
Good catch, that is a direct vacuum leak and would cause a lean issue

It's great you have new fuel system components however you must ensure they are correct for your engine and properly adjusted. Again, have you checked/adjusted the timing? Would guess idle timing for your engine is 10 degrees BTDC

According to my Merc manual, 888 and 215 (both use the Ford 302 engine) should be running ACDelco CR83T, Motorcraft BTF-3M or Autolite 124 for earlier heads (18mm plugs) and ACDelco MR43T, Motorcraft ARF-3 or Autolite 145 for the later heads (14mm plugs)...

Not sure why Autolite 123s are in it, and they don't correspond to anything. Plugs shouldn't need to be altered when adding electronic ignition.

I'm not sure what yellow clear hose you are talking about. I do know that off my pump should be a hose yes. I am talking about hose from valve cover pcv to carb base was loose

Chris.......
Personally, I use NGK... For your engine, that would be NGK AR6FS.

Take you pick....

Yeah, that was my misreading of your post regarding the vacuum line at the carburetor base. Thought I read fuel pump vacuum line (which does not exist) and thought of the diaphragm rupture safety hose.

Past post edited.

You can run any brand plug you like, just make sure it's the correct plug. In my fords I always use autolite/motorcraft brand

Do a plug burn at various RPM. The newer the plugs the easier they are to read
