I have never forgotten it on any of my boats but now the Jet Ski that there is one that I have been guilty of, I had to make a plug from a tree branch to get back.

I've forgotten the plug 3 or 4 times (it happens)
I've forgotten to tell the wife I'll be gone fishing for a week, once. (never happen again.)

Re: Forgot my plug poll.

I have (ONCE) thats enough. I launched my boat, ran up to the marina for some tackle, on my way back down I noticed my wife, and three sons on the dock, and my boat tilted back and to one side "HARD". ran to the car, drug the trailer to the boat and got it out before it sank. I have never forgotten the plug again, nor will I ever.
Mark

Oh yeah... Me and the wife were in a hurry and I just remembered after she launched me that I forgot the plug. Dummy me (not thinking) started to reach over the back and stick it in with the motor running. I did manage to run up and shut it down, then put the plug in. My wife never knowing that I did this, saw my shirt sleeve wet all the way up to the shoulder. She asked what happened, and I had just said "don't ask" She reminds me everytime we go out now!

Once, loaded boat on trailer, pulled boat out, pulled plug, and noticed it was not resting on the trailer correctly. Back in, correct problem, pull out, HEY, where did all that water come from? :p

Yeah, my dad taught me how to launch a boat without the plug in when I was about 8 or 9 years old. That was over 40 years ago. He also taught me what to do about it, run WOT till the water runs out, put plug in...

Re: Forgot my plug poll.

I launched without it once. I was walking back down to the boat and noticed it sitting low in the water. I did the 'mad dash' back to the car and pulled it back on the trailer to drain. No harm done. I was in a 'big' hurry to meet some buddies that were already out. That was at least 20 years ago now but more recently I almost forgot the plug (4 years ago +/-). I was backing down the ramp and stopped. "Did I put the plug in?" I thought. No, I hadn't. Thankfully it was still sitting on the swim grid after the 4 mile tow. Once again I was in a hurry and skipped my checks. Dumb. I don't think I'll do it ever again but... who knows. I boat a lot, that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it! :)
