All this is a great board... please help. I forgot to trailer trim my Bravo 1 and I dragged it up the ramp.... I snapped off 1 1/2" of fin on the bottom, and bent it slightly...

What do I need to do? Is this something that will require replacing the whole lower? Can this be welded and repaired?

PLEASE HELP!!!

It is a simple repair by a good MARINE welder. If it is not cracked up to the oil case area or dripping oil, no sweat. Take the boat to a GOOD prop shop or marina and get their Ok to run the boat till they can have it long enough.

It didnt hit the prop... and I have seen no signs of oil or anything.... I appreciate the quick help. Is this going to affect the performance of the boat? Can I take it out prior to the repairs?

Thanks for the help!!

I dont think you will even notice it, unless the bend is bad. It wouldnt hurt to have someone that is exp look at it to be sure but I know a lot of people that have broke them worse then that. You are very lucky that your not looking for a lower casing

Yea, can you belive that it was the first day I had it out? I felt like such a jack-a**.

The bend is not too bad... maybe a 1/2" from center.

Now my challange will be to find a good Marine welder.

You guys have been great... you have kept me from crying myself to sleep wallowing in my own stupidity.

if you just get it pretty good ,use two hammers one like and anvil and tap with the other and slide it place and drill two small holes

its made to be and easy DIY job because it rare to see a drive that has not found the bottom on way or another ;)

tommays

Thanks Jeff... I have done that one too... On my 17" Baja... I think my Scarab would sink like a rock if I did that :)

Welcome to "Boating 101". Like death and taxes, it's not a matter of if you're gonna forget to do something but when.
