Does anybody know if the 3.0 engine made by GM for a forklift is the smae as the one they make for a boat. I understand this engine is not made for auto application but only industrial or marine. curious if a complete rebuild kit for a forklift would work except for the ss gaskets.<br />Any input would be appreciated.

The 3.0 engine is the industrial engine and the same as the marine version except for the gaskets and other marine parts. I had the occasion to check out some new standby gensets awhile back and was amazed to see the 3.0, 4.3 and 5.7 used. What was really amazing was how low of HP they was rated. But then that was their rating at 1800 rpms. I believe the 3.0 was rated somewhere around 40 hsp.
