Re: fouling plugs

Be sure that your engine has the factory specified Champion QL78YC plugs gapped at .030".

Re: fouling plugs

What am I looking for with the pump I know where the pump is now. I hear the choke engage and disengage within it

That is not the fuel pump, that is the primer solenoid clicking.

Re: fouling plugs

let me rephrase, tilt your engine up, pump primer bulb until hard and then report back the obvious.

Re: fouling plugs

sorry, was at the lake while doing this with limited service.

I know where the fuel pump is, all seems good there. nothing obvious anyways. I didnt notice gas flowing out of the carbs when the motor was tilted up. I assume thats what you were suggesting?

Also, i bought new spark plugs the motor ran good. when i pulled the plugs after running to see what they looked like they were all about the same as far as wet. no Black oil on them. I tested the power packs, all read the same. .1 when tested against a ground and .52-.56 when testing between where the lead comes into the pack and where the spark plug wire attaches. I also tested the plug wires and all had the same resistance.

The spark was different color with the old plugs and new plugs. Flame was white with old plugs with small flashes of blue, new plugs have alot more blue mixed in. Havnt tested for any length of time to know if its fixed. does it seem like the coils are both working correctly? or both maybe going out? i cant tell.

Re: fouling plugs

Are the plug gaps the same? White flame is hotter, I would think.
