Found 181 chevy turbo, any info?

I was surfing around craigslist today looking at the cool boats in Alaska and stumbled across this ad for a Chevy marine engine with a turbo.
Anybody ever seen one of these before?
Is it homemade?

looks like 1000 bucks of scrap iron in those pictures.

The turbo was done by some aftermarket company. It's came up here in the forums before, maybe somebody remembers the name of it.
As far as I understand they didn't work terribley well.

When I was reading through those boat ads from Craigslist Alaska, it seemed like everything was price really high. I guess it must have something to do with the difficulty of transporting goods up there.

M&W made a turbo kit for the 4 cylinder about 30 years ago. I'm with zbnutcase, I wouldn't mess with it unless you intend to use it for a fancy anchor ......
