Today I will go and get my donor boat. Its a 14 foot fiberglass with a big riped apart hole in the bottom. I dont want it just the engine ,(87 merc 35 hp remote controls that has good compression and he will let me see it run,. 2 new batterys. a trolling motor , good trailer, engine serviced with new impellar last year, gas tanks and other hardware,,,,,,,,cost 800 bucks, Seems to be everything I will need to finish my crestliner project,,he is even throwing in a parts engine with a good lower unit and another set of controls. Sounds like a deal to me.........I will post more later after I get it.

UPDATE! I drove 30 miles north to see the boat. To my dismay the engine has the long shaft. No way will it work on my 14foot crestliner falcon..I will slow down and keep looking. Getting a solid engine is the main thing, thanks

Man, if it were a 50hp would have trade with you. I have a 1969 mercury 500 50 hp but is the long shaft. The previous owner installed a jackplate to lower it. I really dont like that setup.
BTW, where do you boat? I like mountain island lake. Im like 5 miles from it.
