Found it in a box, is this fuel/water separator complete or do I need more parts?

I was digging through the box of extra parts the previous owners gave me with my 1988 Bayliner Capri I/O 2.3 and found this.

I've never actually seen one before, but all the boat has on it now is a small plastic in-line filter which I was going to repalce with one of these anyway when I could afford it.

So is this unit complete and all I have to do is screw a filter onto it, or was there originally more to it?

Thanks!

Thats what one looks like. Just mount the base, hook your lines up and put a filter on it.

One more thing, The little diagram on it shows the inlet and outlet (direction of flow). Make sure you get the right.

You also need to get all that rust out of the fittings, or you will be sending it straight to the carb.

Cool, thanks guys. I will be cleaning it completely before installing. From looking at the manual it looks like it mounts to the motor somewhere behind and above the oil filter.

Guess I saved a few bucks!

Might want to look at that fitting in the center. It looks like an inverted flare fitting used for a steel line, and not a pipe fitting for hose barb fittings.

I don't have the original hard fuel lines, I should be alright adding barbed fittings and using fuel hose, right?

Yes, just make sure you use Type A1 marine fuel hose and barbed fittings. Don't use the push-on type barbed fittings. They cut the inside of the hose when clamped.

Ya I caught that too. I am hoping a fitting will still thread into it, otherwise I might have to use compression fitting or some weird combination of the two.

Just unscrew the center fitting and bushing and add a new pipe elbow similar to the outside one.
