I bought a nice hardback gold edged version of Chapman's piloting with a hard slip case...beautiful book really. A little dated, it was a mid nineties edition, but still a wealth of info.

Also, I found a 1975 time life book called "the boat". What a neat one that is! The intro is called "the matchless rewards of boating" by Carlton Mitchell. Four pages of the most wonderful description of our pastime I have ever read. The rest of it is equally well written if a bit dated as well.

Good stuff! :)

Sounds like you hit the jackpot. Thrift stores hold great finds sometimes. Still looking for my "Antiques Road Show" type treasure though.
