Hello to all the Boaters and Techs

I got a Wellcraft Excel260 96' with a 5.7LX 05' with 139hours and a bravo 2. Small story we went Memorial Day weekend boating and come back home and engine work great then I flush it and put it away today I went to start engine like every week and went I turn that key a really loud noise like starter and flywheel grinding together I stop and told my self let me see if the engine turn with the bar and socket and wont I took spark plugs out and bad news found water in cylinders 2,4,6 and 8 the other side is dry 1,3,5 and 7. I check the oil and is clean check the valve cover and is clean then I spin engine and spit all the water out I put fogging oil for now inside cylinders. Look like the water is only in top of the cylinders now this is the question. The only I need to replaced here is flappers and manifolds or I have majors problems.

Thank you every one for any help.
Sorry about my English and spelling

I would bet your manifold and or riser are bad. If this is a salt water boat you are overdue to replace them.

If rust is not bad, you may be fine. If you really want a good idea, get a boroscope in the plug holes

That old you would be best replacing BOTH manifolds, how far behind can the other one be?
Pull the manifold and test it. A search should find a procedure on here. Usually using kerosene, alcohol, acetone, something like that, poured in to the jacket and see if it comes in to the exhaust.

Thanks for the advise guys and yes I agree I'm going to replaced both manifolds and risers including flappers and I'm going to to the test for the manifolds to find out the problem and I'm checking today in the boroscope see if autozone or advance auto parts rent it. By the way any suggestions about what brand for Manifolds and Risers I was looking to this kit last night http://www.ebay.com/itm/130708447180?item=130708447180&viewitem=&vxp=mtr

Run a compression test.

You have likely found your problem. The manifolds you linked dont say the brand, Id call and find out before purchasing them.

Hi

I did the compression test and in all cylinders is 150psi and I call the place for more info. about the brand and they are HGE I don't know what is the difference between this and GLM but I read a lot of bad reviews about GLM.

Thank you
