I've been looking for boats to do a little wakeskating behind. I came across this Falcon. I has 50hp Johnson on it. I belive it is only rated for 40hp. Are there any concerns I should have about this having a 50 on it? Do you think this could get me out of the water and pull me on a wakeskate with out fighting to stay up?

can't get the fisrt pic to open. IF the transom is perfect, it's not unsafe to have the 50 on there....assuming it's a twin cylinder, it likely weighs about the same as a 40hp twin. govt approval may be another issue and ins companies may try to deny coverage with an oversize motor. now go back to that IF.......ain't many boats of that vintage with a good transom unless it's already been replaced and done right.

It looks like it's been molested by a few past owners.
If you pick it up I'm in Algonquin and have a '68 Falcon I'm working on.

We'll see I don't think I'm going to be able to sell the wife on it. Who knows though. A guy can dream right?

maybe start with a simple 12 or 14' cartopper tinnie with pull start OB. shop smart and you can find one of those for 750 or less. once she realizes how much fun it is, then you can negotiate for the 25' Chieftain.

That one is only $650. We have boats in the family and she enjoys them. Just can't sell her on the idea of getting our own yet.

maybe a portabote? they fold flat to where they take up no more space than a big surfboard , and used ones are pretty cheap and common on CL..
