Just put it in the water and started to observe some weird electrical problems and looking for suggestions on where to start. Boat does run, trim, blower and bilge all work, but I see the following:

1) All gauges either stopped working or went to an extreme value. Tach went to zero, trim meter when to all the way down, fuel guage pegged.

2) Horn went from the usual beep to a squeek.

3) Dash switch lights (blower, bilge, ...) started glowing like I had the lights on, but did not.

After getting it home and putting it on the lift found these weird behaviors with the ingition switch off.

1) Turning on the blower motor (blowerdoes run), results in dash guages getting power. I can see fuel and temp gauges move as they would if I had turned the ignition key on.

Did the obvious of checking all connections and looking for an obvious short under the dash but didn't see anything. Any suggestions on where to look next?

Thanks in Advance,

I would check the bar under your dash the all these items are grounded to. Check the connection under the dash and in the engine compartment.

Thanks, I verified everything under the dash had a good ground to the ground bus on the fuse panel and then verified had a bad connection somewhere between the battery and the fuse panel.
