When building out new above deck furniture what type of wood do you guys recommend? 1x2, 2x2, 2x4, plywoods? I am framing a new bench seat, a new motor cover which will all be covered with upholstery. Thanks.

Welcome to iBoats!

Laminated Ext. Grade Plywood coated with Epoxy OR
Aluminum tubing and rivets if your wallet will stand for it.

I'm just sayin...:D

Re: Framing material question

You gotta make your own. Just go to lowes buy some 3/4" Ext Grade plywood( or whatever thickness you need) and cut out the strips you need to frame up what ever it is you're building. OR you could use FIR it is SOMEWHAT rot resistant but you would still need to coat it with some sort of waterproof coating if you want it to last for any amount of time. Coat it with Epoxy resin and and it will last forever. You can check with your local auto body shop to find out where you can buy some epoxy resin.

I'm just sayin...:D
