I was visiting my dad here a few years ago and saw a velvet ant, cool looking critter but hmmmmmm will have to stay away.......Had a run in with fire ants when I was a kid.....not fun.......I can deal with all that but the SPIDERS.....For the Love of God...........YUCK

if you are in a woody, brushy area, put a propane power fogger in you budget. home depot has them

Welcome to Florida, Alachua is just a hop skip n jump from Keystone.

Yes we have critters that fly, crawl and slither. Pick you up n carry you and some of the biggest lizards around.

You all failed to mention the worst invasion of all. Wait till TOURIST SEASON opens!! Worst drivers ever to invade.

Don't forget the love bugs or whatever they call them.I call them super glue bugs! Nasty little things...I have run into swarms of them with the windows down...eewwww!

Shoulda been around in the mid to early 70's when they were bad!! Had to carry an extra couple gallons of washer fluid to make the drive from Titusville to Orlando.

Oh and that new one around here... the kissing beetle... get bit by that and there's a good chance the parasites that most of them are host to, will kill you.
