I doubt the arrival hours are strictly enforced. You just have to wait till the site is empty if its like any other campground I've been to. Can you imagine 120 vehicless waiting for 3pm, all lined up at the gate. Then its... GREEN FLAG racing... Boogity Boogity Boogity. I may get up at 5 or 6, or maybe sleep in till 9. Who knows, my bladder is my alarm clock. Either way, I will be cranky and have sleepers in my eyes. If I get up at 5 and go fishing, I will be sunburnt by 9am. As far as bait shops go, I checked with a few guys and in the online phonebook. Nothing at the lake itself. A small mom and pop store about 8 miles away. A BP gas station that sells minnows and bait about 14 miles away, just as you get off hwy 29 at Marathon City. Also a bait shop about 12 miles away in Mosinee. There is a Gander Mtn about 20 miles away if anyone has forgotten something that they just have to have. I have some nightcrawlers, and will be picking up some minnows. Will try to catch some crappie and walleye. The walleye fishing is typical, jig/minnow, worm harness, or trolling crankbaits. The crappies are usually caught suspended in deeper water, using a slip bobber and minnow, or trolling small cranks or spinners.

Wooo hooo! 1 week to go! Everybody ready? We'll be planning our menu this weekend. We've checked all or tents and set them up to be sure we know how (new tents). I've even got my jolly roger all set up on my skylon.

I haven't got the wifey to commit to camping overnight. Since I was aquited of the 9 municipal ordinances on Wednesday the Village of Deforest would sure like me to leave for 2 days. And since I won't have to shell out $4500 in fines I'll be bringing some good beer along. Will be up for the day on Saturday for sure, wife or not.

I hope I have #14. I canceled the other one when Roscoe told me #14 was mine. I am sure that this was said before. I thought someone said we were having a pot luck on Saturday nite. We are bringing plenty of fixns but how does a pot luck work? A pot luck for us country folk is securing a road kill(not to old) throw it the pot and invite friends over

Looks like we will land Friday afternoon. One side note here. This may be the last year that my mom will be at the homestead. She fell last week and spent two hours on the ground before anyone came to her aid. She was outside and it kinda put the scare into us. She is coming home this fall where we Can take care of her Those of you who have met her know she is something special.
