Like the new avatar ee! Did you get a new prop?<br /><br />I bought another new tube today. That makes three coming with. It's one without a hole in the middle. Basically a thin inflatable disc. Much easier to get onto out in the water.

Yep - got the new one; by the way thanks again for the advice!!<br /><br />I went to WestMarine and got a new aluminum matching the description we discussed and everyone who recommended I make the change was definitely right --- it peforms really nicely. Actually, when my dad was out this weekend he brought his GPS... Turns out my speed in pretty decent chop was 35 MPH. I am confident I could hit 45 if I wasn't heading into 3 foot seas and heavy wind.<br /><br />I think I might bring my tube... i got it with the "convenience package" that came with my boat. Haven't even taken it out of the box yet!!

What you need is a good "Wisconsin" movie. Like Ed Gein, or some other that takes place in Wisconsin. Psycho was inspired by the Ed Gein story. Rodney Dangerfield also made a movie about college life that was filmed here, dunno the title. Or anything else by the Zucker brothers. How about Houdini with Tony Curtis? He was from Appleton (Harry Houdini aka Erich Weiss). Was American Graffitti in Milwaukee, or was that just Happy Days? Of course a river theme might also be appropriate ... like Deliverance?<br /><br />Doesn't sound good for me to be able to make it. 6 day weeks for the forseeable future.

Actually John Belushi went to Whitewater, Tony Shalub and Willem Defoe are from Appleton, and Charlton Heston married a woman from Two Rivers.<br /><br />Sorry to hear your schedule is so heavy Willy. Pretty sure I read in the fishing regulations that a person within 2 miles of any body of water in Wisconsin possesing a copy of Broke Back Mountain can face up to 20 years in a state prison. Is it really worth it?

I'm still psyched about coming, but my ski season is not going so well.<br /><br />In April, I screwed up my shoulder and am still recovering. I've been taking it easy on the skiing, but it's felt pretty good lately. Went out tonight and on my first pass, blew out my right knee. Don't look good. Hopefully I won't need surgery, but time will tell. I'm sitting here with an ibuprofen/vodka cocktail as I type.

Broke my ankle few years back, messed up my knee last fall, tore my shoulder a few years ago, chopped the end off my finger last year. All of it has slowed me down considerably, slowing down has made me overweight and out of shape, which makes me afraid to do anything for fear of getting hurt again. Within 5 years I will be a big ball of jello. <br /><br /><br />Set up the 2 tents the other day, just to make sure they were in good shape and nothing missing. Then I set up the new screen tent, or tried to. The tent portion is great, the pole system is garbage, broke 2 of them !!! Don't know what to do, fix it somehow, trash it, buy a different one, go without ????<br /><br />Trying to set the gear together so I don't have to find it all at the last minute. Still need to buy a new wash pan, and will maybe even splurge on a tablecloth. <br /><br />Suppose I should find some sort of light to take too, seeing as we have electricity.

Can't wait! Just have to replace my steering wheel on the boat. Hit a wake a bit hard up on Winnebago and busted it in two. Dang cheap 70's plastic. Went to general doc today and she said it ain't good. No bone damage on the x-rays, but she is pretty sure i tore a ligament, just not sure which one yet. Orthopedic visit scheduled for Monday with an MRI to follow I'm sure.<br /><br />Looks like my tournament season has ended before it began this year.

What is the earliest you guys are showing up on Friday. I know I wont be able to sleep and will probably leave at 2 am and get there around 6 am. I dont know if a pot luck thing for Friday is considered corny but if so maybe we can organize a list for Friday night.

I will be there Thursday, early afternoon.<br />Will have to take care of the animals and finish packing up, a stop at the deli and the bait shop, on the drive over.<br /><br />I will be keeping the meals simple.<br />Mostly because I hate the cleanup after the meal.<br />May be having friends show up just for the day on Saturday, so we were kind of thinking about a bigger meal Sat evening. But who knows. So far all seven of them are "really looking forward to it", but won't commit to being there.<br /><br />If you guys want potluck, I guess I can throw something together too. <br /><br />How about if everyone provides their own meat, and brings a dish to pass?<br /><br />Somehow, I don't think we will be short of food on this camping trip.<br /><br />As I stated in an earlier post, I will have the tripod grill and a supply of charcoal. So for anyone that doesn't want to haul a grill or build a cooking fire, they just need to walk over to my site. I don't suppose we can cook for 35 people on one 20" grill, but there is no reason for everyone to bring a grill.<br /><br />There are fire rings, with some sort of a grate, so if you just bring the nice "clean" rack from your grill at home, you will be set.<br /><br />Pointer, make sure to pass the word on to your dad, that he is welcome to hang out and share the grill, or borrow anything else he may need.
