hey fellows

I bought a 115 hp evinrude 1974 model for 4o bucks yesterday!!!!!!:)

The guy said it was frozen but was running good before it got put up in storage. With the help found here in the archives, I managed to free her up with little effort.
All I did was put wd40 in thru the spark plug holes and wiggled it free but I'm sure its gonna need more work before it fires up
Should I pour some kind of oil in the cylinder before trying to rev her up and check compression?

If so what kind?

I think some Marvel Mystery Oil would be a big help. I is a good all around penetrating lubricant.

Yup, Marvel MO or Kroil or PB Blaster. The idea is to lube the cylinder walls and maybe free up a stuck ring, if one is stuck. After you get it running, put some Seafoam in the gas to decarbon the insides.
