It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves under the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag. ...

Idiots ....

No, I think maybe you should give ole PW a little credit there Frogger. Think about it . . . he used Rosie and David Duke in the same sentence. That's progress right there . . . ;)

Although I would hate to see a draft, those young protestors need to get drafted, its the only way they will ever have respect for those who protect such freedoms.

Please ladyfish,do not inflict that sort of punishment on the officers who would be charged with straightening out these sorry excuses for human beings

It would be the NCO's (Non-Commisioned Officers> Sgt's)having to straighten them out.

And it's the far left that are teaching these kids that what they did was ok. "Express your feelings" I agree with LF, put these chicken sh@ts in the military and see how quick their warped minds see the light!!

And I bet to express their new found power of freedom, after they inhaled all that smoke from burning the uniform and our flag they probably went down the street to nearest smoking restaurant/bar and picketed that because they (the owners ) allowed smoking inside.

Don't get me wrong, freedom of speech is a great thing, but these little punks have me really p!ssed!!!

Re: Freedom of speech

Plainsman,

Hear hear!!! Have met very few NCO's that couldn't handle those knotheads, but the problem is we are now a volunteer force. As such, we have to change tactics a bit lest they vote with their feet when their enlistment is up. I retired as a First Sergeant on the Sergeant Major's list. I could teach them a thing or 6.

However, given the opportunity, I'd love to "re-educate" these idiots. Freedom of speech only seems to apply to the younger generation. Those of us a little older know better. Of course, we were taught in school a few things. Today, they're taught their self esteem is more important than using their brain.

Idiots.

Re: Freedom of speech

Plainsman, you anywhere near North Platte? I ask because I recently read a book about the ladies of the North Platte Canteen during WWII. Amazing story and amazing achievement. Must be a ton of good people living there.

I was a cryotpgraphic maintenance tech for the first few years 29F, then became a FM radio / single channel sattelite repairer (29E), then at SFC I became a 35W when all Electronic Maintenance Chiefs were moved from Signal to Ordnance. At E8, after a gig with the Secret Service and the Pentagon I moved into Quartermaster as a contracting and acquisition specialist. Of course, I ended up in Iraq with the 101 as a company First Sergeant again. Made the Sergeant Major list and decided to retire instead. Between Gulf 1, Afghanistan and Iraq I had had enough.

was 19E a tanker MOS in those days? 62 Ordnance or Engineer?

North Platte is about 3 hours east of here, but you are correct about the people! You would NOT see this type of crap happening here.

Yep on the 19e and a 62e was a heavy equipment operator (dozer and loader for me)

I was at Campbell in 92, moved the battalion to Ft Hood in 93. Great bass and crappie fishing at both places. Lived in Clarksville if I recall correctly.

Yah, Those are the same bunch o' fruits that smashed up down town Seattle during World Trade talks a few years back. Seattle's fruity police couldn't stop the punks from smashing windows n' such, (actually Seattle's then Gay Police Chief was the real problem behind the scenes). Portland, Eugene n' Corvalis is where lots of 'em live, (I guess, or so I've read). Calm down Eric, they aren't worthy of one minute of your serious consideration. You protected all of us so these idiots could do this stuff. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Most of us really appreciate it. Cindy Sheehan n' Jane Fonda's crowd luvs this stuff and the more 'normal people' see it the more critical thinkin' may result! Now ya know how I feel livin' in a very nice place that has Bagdad Jim McDermott for a Rep! I'll bet ol' Bagdad Jim n' his supporters would cheer these people, (I'd use another word but that may get zapped)! JR

Re: Freedom of speech

Plainsman,

Funny you mentioned two of my favorite places. I was at Campbell from early 02 when I left DC until I retired in 04. While at Campbell I kept the boat slipped at Ky Lake. None like it anywhere. One of the largest man made lakes in the nation and with Land between the lakes, and Lake Barkley, it was truly a sportsman paradise.

I was at Hood from 95 to 97, 1st Cav. Fished, skiied and played all over Stillhouse Hollow Lake and Belton Lake.

Good times at both places.

OK, back to the common topic of discussing the 19 year old eggheads that think their pinko profs are teaching them something.

Idiots.

A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in . And how many want out." Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Re: Freedom of speech

All I saw were a bunch of "enlightened" yoot's. They had the complete 60's liberal kit. A little drum, burning a fellow american who happens to be a soldier, a flag suitable for burning. And brave, with their little masks on. I wonder were they learned this type of protest. Very articulate means of speech. I am sure there are some who watch this and are proud.

Can someone tell me where you can get a burning permit for any downtown area? Where were the police?

You cant talk or reason with these morons. They "feel" something, therefore it becomes fact. So forget any re-education.

Lets just hope their big mouths will prevent them from ever being anything other than the losers they already are.

I only watched about 30 seconds, as it was all I could stand. You know, I see this and don't know what to say, or what I would say to them. They are dumazzes. I would liked to have seen some from the crowd step up and give them a good old fashioned azz kicken. It would probably not have changed them too much, but I would have felt better about it.

I really like the way they showed their commitment to their cause. By hiding their faces. Just like the KKK. Anybody who has ever protested anything righteously has done it openly, without hiding. Only the trash has to hide.
