Freewheel on alternator

Hi everybody, just small question:

Why don't have the mercruiser alternators no freewheel pully like in cars ?

Welcome to the forum.
The idler pulley is not necessary because there aren’t as many belt driven accessories to to power from the belt(s). The idlers help ensure there is enough degrees of belt wrap around each pulley to properly drive that accessory.
