I would like too hope so but it looked like rust to much I’d have to get a better pictureYou can get ones that are a Hunk of round Neoprene and can be expanded by tightening a Nut on them
Odd that it Rusted, Marine Engines don't use Steel Core Plugs, older ones used Bronze/Brass ones, and more recently Stainless Steel.
I would agree with both I’ll have to take a better look was more concerned with getting off the water as anyone would the bilge pump also took a crap so I’ll have to fix that as well.I would look closely. Looks like the core plug was pushed out (fresh metal scrapes)
Agree with Jim, marine engines use brass and stainless core plugs.

Pullin' the motor would be the easiest route,.....I have a 1990 seaswril with 5.0l ford 302 OMC i have a freeze plug that has rusted out and it now leaking water how would I go about fixing it with out taking the engine out its unfortunately the one behind the engine mount (here’s a terrible photo)
