fresh and seawater mixing

i have a 1978 model 470, 4 cyl, 170 hp mercruiser. when i pour water into the sealed cooling it comes out my lower out drive from where seawater is. where can the 2 mix at? also i recently had an exhaust boot put on and the exhaust elbow was removed, when it overheated the clamp on the elbow was off the hose and spraying water. now i have the mixing water problem.

Sounds like your heat exchanger has a leak.

thats what I was thinking. is there anywhere else the 2 could mix

Nope. Bad heat exchanger is where they would mix.

will a 4" mount right up or do i need some kind of conversion things
