Fresh motor swap no elec power help???

I just completed getting my motor in 1990 omc 4.3. I got a fresh long block and installed it with every ones help from here along the way. I plugged every thing in hooked the battery and I have nothing not even power trim or power to my ignition or my coil. I have tested many thing with my multimeter found I have no power any where. My horn works and of course my stereo since it has its own wiring. One thing I found odd was 2 blown fuses in my fuse block so i changed them one was for lights and the blower. When I put the fuse in for the blower my gauges all zeroed out and then the fuse blew again. I am at a total loss here very frustrated with my boat right now please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS I have two 50 breakers "glass fuses" that I tried to take apart and check since they are in rubber snap things when doing so I broke the glass fuse after trying so carefully not to break it but after 20 years it was like glues in. Any thoughts on this?

You got a multimeter so you're on the right track. Do you have a wiring diagram?

The cool thing about trouble shooting an electrical problem is that it can be only one of three things. Open,short or high resistance. Put your ohm meter to the one end of the fuse block and start checking for a short to ground, pull plugs apart one by one until the ohm meter opens...

Im new to multimeter's what setting is to test ohms I can test volts ac and dc.

got the power back she is all good had some wires in the wrong spot duhhhh. Thanks guys no just got to get the timing good and hope it fires ok.
