How would one go about getting all the old water out of the "fresh" water tank. It is pretty nasty and would like to clean it out and start with fresh. 1998 crownline 268cr

Re: Fresh water...

I pulled the aluminum water tank out of the boat and had a drain installed in it at a machine shop. A little bleach in the water tank every once in awhile will do wonders killing "stuff" and making the water tolerable. That being said, we only use the water in the tank for rinsing off and never for drinking. Another option (what we did before the drain was installed in the tank) would be to run the water through the fawcets until the tank is empty. Another hint, if the water pressure fluxuates excessively when the water is running at a fawcet, add a small accumulator tank to the water line. This will reduce the pump cycling on/off frequently and the water pressure at the fawcet is more constant.

Re: Fresh water...

My water system on my 290CR Crownline does the same thing. When you said accumulator tank, is that like a small air pressurized bladder tank like on a household hot water system. Could i buy this at Lowes ???

Jim you would be better served by starting your own thread. We don't get alot of traffic on threads so starting your own would get it the most traffic possible
