my stainless prop is a little rough on the edges. no gouges or chunks missing, just burrs mostly. can i just hit it with a file? what is involved in getting a prop "serviced" at a shop and whats the general cost?

Re: freshen up a prop?

If you find a reputable repair shop they should be able to bring your prop back to almost new. They will repair, balance, polish and bring it back to mfg specs. Worth checking into before going new. $100 should get you anything around 16" diam. repaired. Smaller sizes should be less.

If you dont want it polished they may knock off another $15-20

Good luck!
