Hi All. It has been a long, long time since I last posted here, mainly because I sold my old boat about four years ago and have not had another boat until this weekend. I went with a 1989 Aquasport Striper 17.5 that has a 2003 75 hp 2-stroke ELPTO Mercury (serial number 0T628667). The boat and engine are fantastic shape, and my goal is to keep them that way.
Anyway, on my 1998 Mercury 150 2-stroke, I had a port on the aft side of the engine that would accept a garden hose so that I could flush the cooling system to remove all of the salt deposits. I was hoping to find something similar on this engine, but I cannot find any kind of port for freshwater flushing with a garden hose.
So, my question to all of you is whether or not I am just missing it, or this is something that I have to add onto my engine. I keep the boat at a dock, so trying to hook up ear muffs to the lower unit while other boats are causing wake is not any kind of solution to this. If anyone has any insight into this, I would greatly appreciate you sharing it with me.
