so pulled the cover back on the boat hoping to get out tomorrow before low tide and rain..... yep.... about a dozen frogs, a half dozen lizards and 2 damn wasps nests.

if the frogs ate the wasps, I would be a little tolerant of them crapping all over the inside of the boat.

then noted the 3M 4200 along the rub rail has failed again. going to do a complete why 3M no longer works thread on that (with lot numbers and emails from 3M stating it cant be their product)

first world troubles.....

good news......boat did start at first turn of the key, mechanical oil pressure gauge mounted to the top of the motor is dead (electric still reading).

Have wasp, mud dabbers, carpenter bees and Bats no frogs, have lizards

Mud dabbers fill every hole 1/4 inch or smaller with mud. Be nice if they would fill carpenter bee holes, but nooo

Back shed is riddled with 3/8 holes

Developing a wet spot in peak of ceiling, got Bats in the attack. Thought I had all the holes closed off, must have missed one. Only good thing is doesn't matter when you go outside, haven't had mosquitoes in years

Have lizards but no issues

Carpenter bees were really bad this year for whatever reason. They have slowed down now but spring was brutal. They sure do love cedar trim. But it’s good for business on my end.

I’m waiting as well. I have never had a problem with any 3m products but things change and not always for the better.

Dad and myself have been using 42/5200 for years and I can say comfortably... that it doesn't seem to work the way it used to. I also always really liked the cleaner compound and that seems to have changed as well. Their high temp double stick adhesive also seems to not work as well as it used to either... And thats just 3 observations.

Somebody set a trap for some animal. Momma rabbit got in and died of struggling in hot sun.
Laid there for several days.

3M acknowledged they changed the formula 3 times so far in the past 6 years

My experience mirrors the test done by practical sailor a few years ago

The issue I have is we had the 3M rep at work with the engineers stating that it won't happen, and they gave me two 10 oz tubes of 4000UV. I photo-documented the cleanup, re-application and lot numbers of the tubes.

While practical sailor has a few thousand readers. This forum has a few hundred thousand readers.

I'm here for the eventual 3m rant. :D

Hey guys.... ppppphhhhlllllbbbbbtttttt!

you all left out the damn squirrels..!
I can not confirm or deny what may or may not have happened to the tree rats or why the vultures were eating the carcasses

We had a carpenter bee invasion a few years back. Bought a grease needle for a grease gun, stick the needle in the hole and fill with grease. Remove the needle and finished filling the bee hole. Haven't saw a new hole since. That bad summer I had to keep grease in the holes as they kept pushing it out, but I think that grease finally killed them.

would that be 0.308" or 0.355" that correspond with a slug diameter?
No it's not from someone shooting it
All the holes usually are in the rafters and they drill in than turn and do down the inside or the 2 by's. Some tunnels travel down 2 ft where they nest

Back when I quit tobacco, I chewed nicotine gum . It worked good as a wood filler for those pesky bees especially if you seal the hole while occupied.
