I have a 1996 Inboard 18' Boston Whaler Rage, and I will like to change it to Outboard. Is it possible? What should I do? Can anybody help me?

Sure it is possible. If you have the $.

I seen an article in BoatUS mag regarding that process. Basically you add a shelf(new transom) onto the back of the boat to mount the Outboard on. The shelf holds the engine 1-2' back from the original transom to get the proper weight distribution for the lighter motor in relation to boat size. It looked pretty nice in the article, I imagine the shelf to hang the motor on would be quite expensive.

FYI

Arlan

fc, my brother-in-law and I did this to his 23' cuddy several years ago. We filled the transom holes with plywood and glassed over. We think the transom was stronger when we finished. We built our own mount with aluminum diamond plate but several commercial models are available. Check out this web site. http://www.armstrongnautical.com/repower.html
