This is funny and telling . . . :

"His remarks prompted the Clinton campaign to demand that Obama sever all ties to Geffen and return his campaign donations, citing Obama's past denunciation of "slash and burn" tactics. The interview also sparked a brawl of the billionaires in Los Angeles."

Great stuff QC!8)8) Kinda reminds one of the Libs' n' Fuzzies' tactics just about everywhere in the whole world. When someone makes a sober truthfull statement as Geffen did: (just think about the "merrits" of what was said by Mr Geffen). [Sorry Tree I know that word set ya off last night, (have another one on me)]. The Dems n' Libs escalate the rhetoric to: "SLASH n' BURN" oh no! KILL THE MESSINGER! NOW! Li'l EMOTION anyone?? GREAT SPORT.8)8) Read 'em n' learn: I say. JR

This is gonna be a knock-down drag-out election, and I'm only talking about in-fighting in the primaries. Grab a beer, sit back, and watch the blood.

Haut, you are just killin me. Couldn't afford Hillary? Is this a joke? Buddist monks with a vow of poverty bought her husband! Low six figures can get you missile technology from the Clintons. The Clintons can't be bought? Not only can they be bought, they can be had at a bargin price.

Hillary's sugar daddy found a new yard to play in and she is jealeous and reacted just like a child, with hate. Period. I wonder if those big guns will be loaded with ammo stolen during Bills administration. Where exactly are those stolen personal files? Probably next to those Rose Law Firm records.

All right Murky, haven't you blown enough smoke this evening? d:)
I reiterate, Geffen couldn't afford Hillary, so he went with what he could......
Maybe what he is trying to buy ain't for sale....
i'm sure Geffen's backing comes with a price tag.....
He hitched his wagon to the the wrong hoss, imho....
Hillary will 'Smite" him......;)

Hey Haut, ever stop to think that Geffen just doesn't like the Clintons anymore?

The sharpest political snipes among the Democratic 2008 presidential hopefuls can be traced beyond media mogul David Geffen to a jailed man named Leonard Peltier.

Peltier, convicted of murder in 1977 for allegedly gunning down a pair of FBI agents in a shootout at South Dakota's Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, was one of the primary reasons cited by Geffen for jumping ship from New York Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign in favor of fellow Democratic Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois.

Lawyers have been challenging Peltier's conviction for the past 30 years. He has become a cause celebre, with critics arguing that the government's successful prosecution was corrupt.

In 2001, Geffen, a key Democratic supporter with deep pockets and influence among Hollywood's elite, was one of many high-profile backers of a clemency campaign for Peltier, an American Indian activist, during the final days of Bill Clinton's presidency.

& Bill didn't come across....
I wonder why?
Maybe he though that Peltier was guilty......
It's one thing to pardon a tax cheat....
It's quite another to pardon a double murderer of gubmint servants......;)
Why doesn't 'W' pardon him if he is innocent? HMMMMMM?

I didn't say he was innocent.... I know next to nothing about the case. My point is that Geffen thinks he is innocent and just doesn't like the Clintons anymore... hey, it’s his money, he can spend it anywhere he wants. :p

Haut, clearly you don't want to see that which affects your dreams. Why exactly would Fat Bottom Girl demand that the money contributed be "RETURNED". Perhaps it is because that was "her" money and "her" political cash cow. Please help me understand why she demanded the money be returned. Lets face it, he has been bought and paid for many times over by "her" previous administration and darn it this little carnival ride ain't over yet. Unfortunately for FBG, Geffen is clearly looking to renegotiate his deal.

If his money is tainted, I guess we can expect to see the 18 million bucks coming back to Geffen from the Clintons.

I am still having a hard time just trying to stop laughing at even the concept that Hillary can't be bought. Unbelievable. I now have a better grip on what happened last election. d:)d:)

Geffen has pledged to give whatever money he makes from now on to charity (although he has not specified specific charities or the manner of his giving). In 2002, he announced a $200 million unrestricted endowment for UCLA Medical School.

I think he can afford Hillary.

I can't 'splain it , other that she is pissed that he has become a turncoat in her eyes....

Not sure what you are trying to say here.....

I said that he didn't have enough to buy her off......
So he had to settle for the newbie, Osama....

One does not bite the hand that feeds.....
Or might feed.....;)
She is not running against Geffen, so why attack him?
One mo' time......
Obviously he wants something that she feels she cannot give up or will not give up......
& he feels that he can wheedle, manipulate or buy it from the newbie.......
I can see why you are not a politician......d:)

Yes Bro, ol' Murky has blown a li'l smoke today, (thought I was in JB's cross hairs n' it was you!). Embarrasin' n' all. Geffen is a smart guy, (I think he is worth well over $1Bill, n' the birds in his flock have lots o' $, so he could buy many MANY things), and what he stated 'bout Hill n' Bamma is probably quite true, IMHO. That said: Pointer did make a very good point. Monks did hand ol' Al many lunch sacks with $5,000.00 per bag, n' Bernie Schwartz subsaquently fixed the Chinese rockets. I hope you are right 'bout Hill bombin' Bamma 'cause I agree with Geffen: (I think she is easier ta beat then he is). You tend ta state things in financial terms me Bro, n' I think when ya get to that level o' wealth, (many times 'critical mass'), people tend to persue power n' many wealthy Holywierd Libs are real guilty about havin' so much money so they want to get Pols elected who will tax you n I to do their 'good works' with our tax money, (ya know Geffen is a gay guy n' not likely very religious,['cept the religion o' BIG GOVERNMENT n' all]). Don't know if you are correct in statein' things in financial terms when the people are that wealthy n' most Pols can be had with a mere $10,000.00 n' the expectation of more ta come. BOTH: (Republicans and Democrats), to be fair n' balenced n' all. Still think Pointer's post was very good n' I did not think of it first after readin' you earlier. Respectfully, JR

Oh, and maybe he thinks he can buy something from Obama that he doesn't want from Hill. :%
