I have a 6.5 hp evenrude that i let sit too long apparantly without turning it over. Now it appears frozen, unable to rotate. I have put marvel mystery oil in the spark plug holes, set overnight but no movement possible. Any suggestions?

Re: frozen outboard

Hi Jim,
If you can still buy a head gasket for it.
Remove the head, remove the recoil starter if its a top mount one. Get a piece of pine wood that will fit down the cyl bore.Place it on the piston and smack it with a hammer.
The wood that is.While turning the flywheel
with a strap wrench in the same direction that the piston wants to move, try both cyl.
IF THE PISTON IS AT TOPDEAD CENTER THIS WON'T
WORK.
Regardless the cylinders will need to be honed and new rings put on the pistons. To make the motor run the best. IF they stuck
because of condensation you may be able to
run it by useing double oil for 1 gal gas.
then back to your normal mix.
BTW how long was to long :> Storage seal the baby next time todays fuel has alcohol in it
which washes the oil from the motor absorbes
water and causes your problem. Your not alone
...have fun...corm
