It may be noisy but we love this air-cooled outboard because it's so light and perfect for several of our smaller "toys"...especially canoe and homemade cat. We haven't used it for probably about a year and when we just tried to start it, found that the throttle is frozen (handle will not turn). We're not exactly mechanically inclined but are willing to give it a try. (Motor is old enough that it's difficult to find anyone who wants to work on it...or if they're willing, would charge more than the motor is worth). Hubby has managed to take off some of the gadgets on the handle but we still can't get the handle to turn like it's supposed to. The Engine starts and runs fine but we can't turn the handle (throttle) and get the prop to turn. We've gotten the rubber handle grip partly off but it doesn't look like that part has anything to do with it. Hubby also got the throttle to somewhat work by fiddling with the flat "nut" that seems to attach the cable to the mechanisms on the handle. Would really appreciate any suggestions on what to do.

Thanks!!

Sandy T.
