on 2 stroke small motors is it a good idea to mix up some fuel aditives?because in another forum someone said that additives are only good for motor car engines 4stroke and in outboards 2stroke they will seperate oil from fuel is this true.if this is not true any advice about fuel additive for my 3.5 nissan 2stroke.
is there something bad about refill fuel only when motor ran ouy of gas? ifound this more practical but for one time motor dont want to start after i used this method for several times.

Re: fuel additives

Some additives can prevent the oil from properly mixing with the gas, others can prevent the oil from sticking to the surfaces. About all I feel safe with is fuel stabilizer. Ring-free products should be less necessary with TCW-3 oils you get these days. 3 has more anti-carboning agents than TCW-2 had. It's the main difference between the two. But it is one of the products that I would feel safe with.

The problem is you're combining solvents with oil with a majority of additives. In a 4-stroke they're kept separate. In a carbureted 2-stroke they're mixed together. Another problem is overdosing.

Re: fuel additives

Any of the additives marketed by the engine manufacture are ok. SeaFoam is another that is widely used. It can be used as a decarb agent or added to the fuel as a fuel conditioner and fuel system cleaner. It has a lubricant in it so it will not alter the lubricity of the oil.
