I just bought an 89 bayliner capri with a 125hp force hanging off the back and I was wondering if it would be ok to put a fuel additive like techron in the fuel just as a good measure, the boat runs great this is just for the wonder of it all, I know it helps in automotive use with stuck rings but not sure about in a 2stroke.

Thank you for your input

Re: fuel additives

It won't hurt it a bit.Chevron with Techron about $6-7 will disolve deposits and gunk. But it needs to be mixed in small amounts of gas.
I use it in my V-10 Ford I wait till it's just about out of gas and add 2 containers to 1 gal of gas.Put it in and go for a ride.
Make sure the gas has oil in it or you will roach the motor.
Gasoline stabilizer is a good bet too.If you use your boat a lot in isn't necessary. If it's used a little use a stabilizer.J

Re: fuel additives

Thank you jerry I bought some additive but then began to wonder about it, I will mix my gas oil mix 50:1 as normal and mix the additive on the mild side just to be safe, engines are to exspensive to mess with the wrong way

Thank you again
