fuel fill problem..

96 basshawk bass boat w/ a force 90. I go to put gas in boat and the fill tube fills with gas and only trickles down tube. took vent tube off tank and blew through it and is clear . could the valve on tank itself be clogged or stuck ? I can take off vent tube while pumping gas in it and will fill normally

then get rid of the vent tube -likely hasa check valve in it ?? causing the prob.

It won't surprise me there could be a kink in the vent tube which when removed from the tank straightens it out. Trace the tube in its entirety and see if there is a kink somewhere.

Is this a new problem? Check the vent fitting on the hull. A bug may have started an apartment complex in the fitting.

Check for a mud dauber nest in the exit of the vent clogging it.

Definitely a problem with the vent tube. Kinked, stuck check valve or clogged somehow.
