Fuel fill question

I'm ready to install my new 16.5 gallon Tempo below deck gas tank and I have a question; will gasoline travel to the tank unimpeded if the fill hose makes a bend up and then down to the tank? This tank was the only stock tank that I could find that would fit.

Re: Fuel fill question

Capt.
As long at the tank input is below the the level of the fill then it will fill but can be slow if has a lot of up hill or if the tank input is near the same level of the fill cap. You must have a clear vent hose.
If the vent has the same up hill to the tank you will end up having a fuel spill and slow filling tank.

Ah man.... my cover is "blown"! Seriously, I'm not the original Capt., although we do share the same "passion" for boating............... I was wondering when someone would catch that! LMAO

You will have trouble filling the tank with the fill hose routed as you mention.

The up and down routing of the fill hose will cause an air lock. Been there-done that!

I had a hilarious post about what would happen that I deleted on further review.
Use your imagination.
Anyway, doing what you propose could cause no end of troubles.

Re: Fuel fill question

Thanks for the responses. I think I will route the fuel fill on top of the console and it will have a direct line down to the tank.I saw an old Aquasport that was rigged this way. My original setup is a fill on top of the port gunnel running down 2 feet or so and then a 90 degree angle to the tank. Time for a Stabbin Dog..............
