Re: Fuel flow chart 1984' 115hp Evinrude V4 Flat head
I am now convinced that the third hose off the fuel pump went to the prmer solenoid. It simply is the only way everything could go back together with the parts I have.
Fuel flows through this hose when I sqeeze the fuel bulb so I can't leave it unplugged.
This hose seems to fit the big inlet nipple on the primer solenoid quite well.
I need to pull off the fuel pump and verify that there is indeed a hole for the impulse behind it. It would be a huge surprise if it doesn't!
While I am figuring things out I went ahead and capped that third fuel pump line (the one I head-scratched about) and routed a new line from the capped off fuel manifold nipple to the primer solenoid.
Now it is put together like the schematics on this website indicateit should.
I also want to point out that when the motor ran the only way I could get the primer solenoid to flow gas was to sqeeze the hand bulb while depressing the solenoid 'on' switch.
I need to get one more part (plastic piece for the timing advance lever) then I can test run the engine for the first time.
I'll let you guys know...
Thanks!
