Looking for a good fuel flow rig (gauge and sending unit) for a 2006 Yamaha F115. I know Yamaha makes a gauge but they want an arm and a leg for their unit. I am looking for basic measurements. Any suggestions for a 4-stroke fuel injected engine??? Thanks in advance.

Just checked, they have one in the iboats store for $144.
I have seen a price sheet for the Yamaha system match stuff and the prices are obscene, it's a pretty neat system but yikes.

I won't tell you where, but do a search for "Northstar 210". I saw a price for $117.34. Northstar acquired Navman so the Northstar 210 and the Navman 2100 are the same unit. I have one and its works well. Doesn't matter if its two stroke, four stroke, carbed, or EFI. It will tell you total fuel used since last rest, fuel used for current trip, fuel remaining, current fuel burn rate in gallons/hour and it also has low fuel warning and light. It is also easy to install. They recommend a fuel filter ahead of the transducer. I also recommend a foam cushion for the transducer. They don't like shock and vibration.

The Lowrance LMF-200 is another nice unit. I have a couple of friends who have them and really like it. You can find it on the internet for less than $125 including the sensor.

I was looking into getting the Navman 2100 unit but the installation instructions recommend that the unit be 20" away from either a radio or compass. The Lowrance has no such requirement do they somehow work differently.

The head unit on my navman was located within a foot of the VHF antenna and the transducer is back by the engine. Can't imagine why that requirement exists, and my manual said nothing about that but I've owned mine for several years. The electronics are in the head unit. The transducer is a turbine wheel.

I think you can download the installation instructions and user's manual from Lowrance. The one's I am familiar with are both mounted in the consoles of 19' center console Makos within a few inches of radios and compasses. I don't think there was any concern on mounting distances but I'm not sure, I didn't install them.
