I have a 50hp 4 stroke merc that has only 5 hours of run time. Coming home last night the engine was cutting out as I accelerated. I've read some of the posts with similar problems but I can only think that the flow demand valve is the problem. I am running the new plastic tank that came with boat with the spray less connector with fresh gas. Is it possible a piece of plastic from the tank became lodged somewhere along the way? Is this a common issue with the demand valve? Is there any way to fix it without just replacing?
