Fuel Flow Question

I want to install a Northstar fuel flowmeter on my engine (230 Mercruiser). The sending unit has to be installed in the fuel line on the suction side of the fuel pump after the water seperator. The sender also has to be positioned so the fuel flow is entering from below and running vertically through the top of the unit. The only way I can see to do this is to run the line up from the seperator, add the sensor, and then return the line 180 degrees back to the fuel pump. My question is will there be a problem with the fuel running uphill from the seperator instead of straight downhill to the fuel pump?

run your fuel line from the separater down, then make the 180 up and into the sender which you can now mount below the fuel pump. (If there is room, that is)

Thanks for the reply but there isn't enough room to route the line down.

Then run it like you stated. There is no problem with the fuel going up hill. It's not flowing, it's being pumped. Most of your small runabouts have the fuel tank below the engine.
