First time poster here so I appreciate in advance any help.

A few weeks ago I was traveling to a fishing spot and I noticed my fuel gauge just stopped working....just suddenly dropped to below E....at that time I had 1/2 tank of gas and that is accurate.

I thought maybe my gauge broke but I bought a new one and it doesnt work either. I tested to make sure sure the gauge was getting power and it was getting 12volts from the ignition wires and 9 volts from the fuel signal...I assume that means it is getting power.

So what should I do now? I assume maybe something went out where the wire connect to fuel tank?

FYI...I have a 1999 Fish Master from Travis.

Thanks

HG in need

Re: Fuel Gauge Stopped Working

Hey HG

Remove the (Send) wire from the sending unit and ground the wire with the ignition in the ON position. Gauge should read full. If it does, the sender in the tank is bad...(Ground it away from the tank, cause it may spark a bit) If no movement, start looking for breaks in the wiring or problem with wiring at the gauge....

You lost the ground at the gauge.
