I JUST BOUGHT A 98 LARSON W/115 JOHNSON O/B, THE FUEL GAUGE WILL READ FULL WHEN YOU FILL THE TANK AS THE BOAT RUNS THE GAUGE WILL DROP LIKE IT SHOULD UNTIL THE GAUGE READS 3/4 OF A TANK LEFT. I FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS ACTUALLY EMPTY. ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO FIX THIS WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Re: FUEL GAUGE WRONG

sounds like its time to pull the sending unit out of the tank and make sure the float is dropping all the way

Re: FUEL GAUGE WRONG

rkdenny,

I believe Perko makes a replacement sending unit that is adjustable, depending on the size of your tank.

If you find your unit is shot, you might try West Marine (or similar outlets) for a Perko fuel tank sending unit. It has instructions on how to replace / adjust it. If memory serves me it cost about $15 to $20??

I installed one in my 12 gallon tank and it works fine.

Good luck, Gold Bear ;)
