Fuel in fist oil change on F115?

So I did the 20hr oil change on my new Yamaha F115 4-stroke yesterday. The oil was was darker than I though it would have been but when the last few ounces was draining out I could see streaks of a lighter color and it smelled like fuel. Is this normal on the first change? It never seemed to be enough to raise the dipstick level when I checked it during the first 19.5 hours. Thanks

The initial 20 hour checkup is a lot more involved than an oil change. Usually done by a dealer to catch problems before they escalate into major ones. So now if you have a future problem, you may have to show the 20 hour service/inspection was performed properly and if you allow that you found fuel in the oil, why you continued to operate the engine.

BTY, The water in the oil theory is bogus and was proved incorrect by Yamaha years ago.

Everything I have every read/learned about that engine is YOU MUST BREAK IT IT PROPERLY! What does that mean. RUN THE HELL OUT OF IT!! You have to get that motor heated up enough to seat the rings or you will get fuel past the rings and into the oil. The best way to prevent that is to make sure you get to 5500-6000 rpm at wide open throttle, less than that and you're over-propped and asking for problems. Every time I run mine I try to get a 5 minutes at LEAST of wide open running. I have a 2002 F115 with about 200 hours on it and never a problem.
