after a few outings on the lake with no issues other than an slight stumble after running 3k rpm for 10-15 mins, i brought the boat home on saturday with a half tank of fuel went take the in-laws out on sunday and as always i start the boat on muffs before i head to the lake the boat started and ran for 30-40 sec. then stalled, no big deal pumped the throttle 2-3 times fired right up ran about 10-15 sec stalled so i tried again fired then stalled. pulled the fuel filter out it was clean, poured a little gas in the carb fired right up. so today pulled off the fuel pump and took it to the work bench by moving the lever by hand it would squrit fuel out took the bowl off cleaned and inspected the inside of the bowl, removed the housing where the diapham is and inspected the diapham every thing looked good. put it back together and hooked up a 0-20 psi gage and operated it by hand with no fuel i had 5 psi. then i removed the gage and hooked up a line to the suction side of the pump and placed it in a gas can operated it by hand and after about 5-6 pumps filled a coffee can 1/2 full.
other things i checked, i removed the fuel sending unit verified fuel level tank was half full and sucked on the fuel line coming from the tank and fuel was coming to my mouth(yes i drank a little) but would not stay flowing.
i have two thoughts 1 the float in the carb is stuck shut( it was just rebuilt in the spring)or 2 i think the fuel tank might have a check valve or anti siphon device that could be slightly clogged
any other ideas i am going to check the carb tomorrow for a stuck float
thanks again for all the help
