Fuel issue

I have a 1980 40 mercury, I can't get fuel out of the fuel pump, bulb pumps up hard but won't go through the pump, I've had the pump off and re built it, sprayed carb cleaner through everything and there doesn't seem to be blockages. Help

And now there's no water coming through the fuel pump either

ok, what happens if you disconnect the fuel supply hose from the fuel pump on the motor, and pump the primer bulb?

Have you replaced or worked on anything else recently, like the fuel line or fuel tank ?

Sounds like hoses are not connected properly.----Did you have pump check valves out?---Installed them correctly ?

Turns out the outboard guru that I got it from had the lines backwards on the pump. And the water issue was just my ears not clamping tight enough
