Fuel Line..banjo Fitting...MADNESS

Hey guys. I have a 86 wellcraft scarab 1 with a 260 merc in it. The fuel fitting. Pictured below. goes from the fuel line into the front of the carb. it was dripping. took it off. the metal washers in it were gone. I either need a new one or need a better way to route the fuel line into the carb. please see pics and HELP!

Why not just get new copper washers? Any carb shop will have them...

Just didn't know if there was a better way. The fitting is pretty old and kinda dinged

The designers at the time decided that was the best to use. Trying to change it may cause you more problems than it solves....
