Fuel line fittings melting

I got a new fuel line for my Evinrude and after hooking it up about a week later the fittings started to melt. The first one I thought I just broke somehow and replaced it. Then when the second one did the same I looked at the fittings and it was soft and melted the plastic fittings.
This is a sierra silverado hose and brand new. I have never had any problems before with this type of thing. The place where I got it never heard of anything like that also, and gave me a new hose to try. It's hooked up now and I'll see if the same thing happens.
All that was in the tank was 87 octane gas, Johnson/OMC oil for mix, stabilizer and an ounce or two of seafoam.

Has anyone had any problems with this happening?

bad batch of plastic. contact sierra. there may be thousands, maybe made in China.

Never had that happen or heard of it happening, but I always used OMC connectors....

THey were made in Tiawan and I cannot find the info to contact Sierra. Hopefully the place I returned it to will contact them.

I usually use OMC products but was in a bind when buying the hose. It was saturday and I didn't want to drive an hour one way to get a hose becuase I wanted to try to get the motor running that day.

I too am having problems with fuel lines but mine are not melting mine are just not feeding properly.Friend gave me to old out boards one 15hp sea horse 1975 model i think.fule line not feeding through.the other motor i know nothing about i would like some feed back on it is a 1950 something firestone5hp

Did the gas contain any ethonol? if unsure next time your at that station look all over the pump if it contains 5% or 10% or whatever it will have to be posted near the octane rating. Alos if it contains much ethonol the octane rating will be higher. The reason i ask this is because ethonol will melt older fuel fitting that are not alcohol safe. I would think all hoses at stores today are alcohol safe, but maybe old stock? But if the line says alcohol safe its not the reason, unless those foreigners used old parts to assemble the line that are not alcohol safe but used a fuel line that was! Who knows, and if the gas had no ethonol in it, at least if it said it did not and the owner is not selling ethonl mixed gas to reap more in profit (blend gas is cheaper) it will not mater!

I'll look at the station to see if it's got any ethanol in the fuel, it's a Mobile if that matters.
The fuel line has alcohol safe on it. But like clemsonfor said I wonder if they used crappy plastic for the fittings, I wouldn't doubt it since we are hearing about all the recalls on foreign made stuff.
