GOODOLBOY
Just want to thank you for your help about a month ago(johnson 1983 50 hp) on a post you answered. Did the thermostat and impellar.. motor runs great!! I have problem three... I believe its a simple one. The fuel line (from the gas tank)doesn't keep pressure in it.. motor wants to die down and all I have to do is pump the line to get it hard again and it runs great for about 3 minutes and I have to pump again and again every time it happens. Could it just be the tanks themselves? (the seals in the connections) They're old and the gas line is new. Please tell me its not anything to do with the motor itself!! Would it help to change the fuel filter.. seems easy enough.

Did go out in the boat for about 3 hours and besides telling my wife to sit in the back and pump the line eveytime it slowed, we had a great time.

THANKS IN ADVANCE..... If you don't have any vivible fuel leaks then its most likely your fuel pump that's bad. Is there anyway you can try the motor on another, known good, fuel tank to rule the tanks out as the problem?
