I picked up an old 9.8 hp Mercury 110 (Serial # 2707293) some time back and am now getting around to trying to get her running again. The motor is in excellent condition and looks to have been stored for many years. Anyway, it had no fire and I honestly cannot remember if I addressed that before setting it aside for other(easier) projects. I assume the coils are under the flywheel on this model? Anyone know the year?
I broke the fuel lines while trying to remove the carburetor. I am guessing that they are original and very brittle. The lines look a bit like hydraulic lines to me and are not just pushed on to fitting like I am used to seeing on the Evinrudes and Johnsons. It looks like they are clamped into a screwed on brass fitting. How do I go about replacing those? I am assuming it is not as easy as slipping it out and off.
